Spiritual Unity

Truth in All Religions
Throughout history, God has revealed Himself to mankind through a series of divine Messengers, whose teachings guide and educate us and provide the basis for the advancement of human society. These Messengers have included Abraham, Krishna, Zarathustra, Guru Nanak, Moses, Buddha, Jesus, and Muhammad. Their religions come from the same Source and are in essence successive chapters of one religion from God. They emphasized spiritual unity as the glue that bonds common elements of truth in all religions and provides the underpinning force to keep our world a loving place of habitation.

Akbar the Great
The Mughal Emperor ‘Akbar the Great’ is remembered by both Eastern and Western historians as one of the most enlightened rulers of the medieval ages. Akbar’s religious tolerance was unusual for the time period; partly this tolerance was born out of practicalities. However Akbar also displayed a genuine interest in spirituality which sought to absorb the best of all religions.

To share the knowledge of the divine spark which is a central truth in the world’s religions, Akbar developed a new religion called Din-i Ilahi, or "The Religion of God.” In addition to Islam, the Din-i Ilahi contained aspects of Jainism, Zoroastrianism, and Hinduism. The Din-i Ilahi borrowed from Jainism a respect and care for all living things, and it derived from Zoroastrianism sun-worship and, especially, the idea of divine kingship. He believed in the world as a creation of God and a single and unified place that reflects the singularity and unity of its creator. Akbar fully subscribed to the Islamic idea of the Perfect Man represented by the life of the Prophet.*

The soul of Akbar the Great (1542-1605) as the Ascended Master El Morya continues to pursue the realization of a common Light and the dissolving of barriers between religions.

In his final embodiment, El Morya was born a Rajput prince in India and later became a monk frequenting the retreats of the Himalayas. Together with the Master K.H. and Saint Germain, he founded the Theosophical Society.
